Meet Sheikh Asif: From school dropout to a CEO of UK based IT company | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNO): Sheikh Asif, 27, from Srinagar who left his studies after passing 8th class examination due to financial constraints is now founder and CEO of web design company based in United Kingdom (UK). Asif, a resident of Batamallo, is also writing books on business ideas to help unemployed youth to startup their business in different sectors. Talking with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that after dropping out of school in 2008, he worked with some local IT companies for around six years but it was his trip to the UK which changed everything for him. "I got a chance to visit the UK in the year 2016, where I met an employee of Google who gave me an idea to set up a web design company. And working upon his idea, today I am founder and CEO of a web design company based in Manchester," he said. In the year 2018, Asif started online classes for the students interesting in web designing besides digital marketing and so far he has trained around one thousand youth in digital marketing. "I developed a website KOSHURBUSINESS.COM which allows the local businessmen to promote business online, free of cost," he said, adding that so far he has won several awards besides and have been nominated for many prestigious awards which got delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic. Asif said that he has opened an office of his company in Srinagar in Nowgam area as well and at present 25 persons are getting a job in the UK and seven in Srinagar in his company. Besides being a CEO of the Thames Infotech, Sheikh Asif is a professional web designer/ developer, graphics designer, digital marketer, trainer and writer. Asif says he has written two books namely Digitization in Business and Online Business Ideas which according to him, can prove beneficial to anyone in starting their business. "Youth of J&K shouldn't waste their time in futile exercises, there are several opportunities in IT sector where they can earn their livelihood easily," he said—(KNO)
